Star bounce back with win following cup exitAfter a bad loss to Letterkenny Blaze on Saturday night in the National Cup the boys bounced back with a good win over Blackwater Steelers in the League. Clocking up a 20 point victory, better scoring and better defence was the key to the win. The guys are now on 3 wins and 1 loss in the League, with home wins over Phoenix, Queens and now Blackwater.
3 wins in a row in Qualifying for our u18sWell done to our u18 squad qualifying for the National Cup Q-Finals with a 65-52 win over Ballincollig of Cork. That rounded off a P3 W3 sequence for the team and Coach Gerard Ryan. Top scorers were Adam Ryan 20, and both Josh Briers & John McMurray on 16. We now face Letterkenny away in the quarter-final. Sun 13 October:
Star 33 Blaze 71Pardon the obvious pun but Letterkenny Blaze arrived in Belfast with all guns blazing and put in one of the most impressive performances by a visiting team that we've seen in quite a while. Powered by the Hickey twins, Blaze stormed to a 20-point lead at the half in this season opener. Star came out for the third and drove in 9 unanswered points but could not lift their game on the day. Let's just hope it's a case of getting a bad day out of the way early in the season.
